Give me the lowdown

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)Hair Rejuvenation is a 3-step medical treatment where a person’s blood is drawn, processed and injected into the scalp, stimulating natural hair growth and strengthening existing hair. We start the treatment by drawing your blood into a specially prepared test tube which is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the oh-so precious platelets. When injected into the scalp area these platelets release proteins that stimulate the growth of the hair follicles. From here, we use microneedling on the entire scalp to further encourage blood circulation, which is what helps stimulate the hair follicles. We finish your PRP Hair Rejuvenation treatment with some chill time under the healing LED lights to assist in the regeneration and recovery process.

Is it right for me?

Our PRP treatment is ideal for those suffering from hair loss or hair thinning. An initial consultation by one of our skin specialists is essential prior to your treatment. This ensures your specific concerns are addressed and that you are adequately prepped for the best possible results! PRP Hair Rejuvenation is ideal for both guys and gals, in fact, it’s one of our most popular treatments in-clinic!

Did somebody say benefits?

Stimulates natural hair growth and strengthens existing hair Regenerates healthy cell renewal LED post treatment stimulates collagen production and has amazing healing properties Results continue to improve for months following your treatment Healthier, stronger hair oh my!

How many treatments will I need?

This depends on the individual however best results are usually seen from 3 treatments, spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. When you come in for your consultation, we’ll create a tailored treatment plan just for you!

Is there any downtime?

If paired with a skin needling modality you can expect mild redness and swelling for up to 4 days post treatment. The level of discomfort felt during PRP will vary from person to person, but we’d rate the pain around 3 out of ten without local anaesthetic, and as low as zero when it’s applied. Depending on the individual you may experience slight swelling or bruising and discomfort after your treatment, but this should subside within 24 hours.

Handy to know

No unnatural substances are used with PRP Hair Rejuvenation, meaning there’s no risk of adverse reactions as we’re using your own cells (how cool is that?!)

Frequently Asked Questions

Does PRP actually regrow hair?

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) treatment for hair loss involves injecting concentrated platelets from the patient's own blood into the scalp. This process can enhance hair regrowth by stimulating hair follicles, increasing blood supply to the hair roots, and boosting the natural growth factors that aid in hair thickening and strengthening. While results can vary among individuals, many of our patients experience noticeable improvements in hair density and thickness after just 3 sessions.

Who should not do PRP treatment?

PRP treatment may not be suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions or those taking specific medications. People with blood disorders, such as platelet dysfunction syndromes or chronic liver disease, should avoid PRP due to potential complications. Additionally, individuals undergoing chemotherapy, with active scalp infections, or on anticoagulant therapy may not be ideal candidates. If you have any concerns, please consult your doctor before undergoing our PRP treatment here at our Perth clinic, otherwise our experienced team will cover all the questions you have in your consultation.

How long does PRP for hair loss last?

The results from PRP treatment for hair loss can vary but generally last for about 12 to 18 months. Continuous improvement is often seen after multiple sessions, typically spaced one month apart initially. Maintenance treatments every 6 to 12 months may be recommended to sustain the benefits and promote ongoing hair health.

Is PRP covered by Medicare in Australia?

Currently, PRP treatment for hair loss is not covered by Medicare in Australia. This is because PRP is considered a cosmetic procedure rather than medically necessary.
