A treatment that uses your own plasma to help your complexion glow and look younger than ever before? Say hello to your skin-perfecting secret, Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP)!
Give me the lowdown
Also known as the “Vampire Facial” (made popular by the one and only Kimmy K), Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) is a skin-transforming procedure that uses your own plasma to speed up the process of tissue regeneration and repair, encouraging new collagen, elastin and blood supply. The result? Incredibly smooth, evenly-toned and ultra-glowy skin! We start the Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy treatment by drawing your own blood into a specially prepared test tube which is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the oh-so precious platelets. When administered into the area to be treated these platelets release proteins that stimulate collagen and connective tissue formation, as well as tighten the skin (impressive right?!) After your Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy treatment at our Perth clinic, a Societe Rejuvenating Peptide Mask (aka the most nourishing sheet mask ever) is applied to help hydrate and heal the skin. Because PRP can be performed using various modalities, an initial consultation by one of our skin specialists is essential prior to your treatment. This ensures your specific concerns are addressed and that your skin is adequately prepped for the best possible results!
Is it right for me?
Our vampire facial offered at our Perth clinic is a seriously effective skin rejuvenating treatment for correcting dull and ageing skin, uneven skin tone and texture, treating hyperpigmentation and photo damage, as well as skin resurfacing and cell regeneration. PRP can be used on the face, neck, hands, and all over the body (including the hair on your head!) with amazing regenerative results, which will continue to improve with each treatment. Ideal for both guys and gals, it’s one of our most popular treatments in-clinic for hair regeneration and hair growth! PRP treatments using a topical anaesthetic are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Did somebody say benefits?
Reduces pesky fine lines and wrinkles Lightens and brightens the skin Stimulates collagen and elastin production Regenerates healthy cell renewal Improves the look of sagging skin Results will continue to improve for months following your treatment Holy grail status confirmed!
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on your skin type and concerns however best results are usually seen from 3 vampire facial treatments, spaced about 4-6 weeks apart at our Perth clinic. When you come in for your consultation, we’ll create a tailored treatment plan just for you!
Is there any downtime?
Depending on the individual you may experience slight swelling or bruising and discomfort after your PRP treatment, but this should subside within 24-hours and is easily covered with make-up. If paired with a skin needling modality you can expect mild redness and swelling for up to 4 days post treatment, bruising, mild crusting and scabbing 2-3 days post treatment, short-term skin dryness, tightness, itching and burning, skin peeling and short-term darkening of skin pigmentation (followed by lightening). The level of discomfort felt during PRP treatment will vary from person to person, but we’d rate the pain around three out of ten without local anaesthetic, and as low as zero when it’s applied.
Handy to know
Our holy grail treatment for next-level skin results. No unnatural substances are used with PRP, meaning there’s no risk of adverse reactions as we’re using your own cells (how cool is that!)
SC Pro Tip
Don’t undo those impressive vampire facial results by skipping the sunscreen! You need to be wearing and re-applying sun protection daily to shield those precious new skin cells and maintain those smooth, glowing skin results!
