Ready to level up your vitamin A routine? Medik8 Crystal Retinal 6 is a regular-strength retinal serum formulated with 0.06% twin-encapsulated retinaldehyde to target visible signs of ageing while supporting smoother, firmer and brighter-looking skin. Its time-release delivery system gradually releases retinal throughout the night, helping to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven texture, pigmentation and loss of firmness without overwhelming the skin. With consistent use, expect a complexion that looks smoother, clearer and more youthful – without the need to jump straight to the strongest formula on the shelf.

IS IT RIGHT FOR ME?

Crystal Retinal 6 is designed for regular vitamin A users who have already built up a tolerance to retinal or retinol. It's particularly suited to those who have comfortably used Crystal Retinal 3 and are ready to progress to the next strength, or experienced vitamin A users looking for a more targeted formula. If you're completely new to vitamin A, start lower and work your way up rather than jumping straight in.

HOW TO USE THIS BABY

Use Crystal Retinal 6 in the evening after cleansing.

Step one: Apply two pumps evenly across the face and neck, allowing the serum to absorb before following with your moisturiser.

If you're new to Crystal Retinal, introduce it gradually: use twice a week for the first two weeks, then every other night for the following two weeks before progressing to nightly use as tolerated. If you're already an experienced vitamin A user, follow your usual introduction schedule and listen to your skin. Always apply broad-spectrum sunscreen the following morning.

SC PRO TIP

More retinal isn't necessarily better retinal. Crystal Retinal 6 is a significant step up from the beginner strengths, so resist the temptation to over-apply or use it more frequently than recommended. Your skin should feel comfortable, not like it's been through a boot camp. Once you've comfortably finished at least one tube, you can chat with our team about whether moving up the ladder is right for you.

What is Medik8 Crystal Retinal 6?

Crystal Retinal 6 is a regular-strength vitamin A night serum containing 0.06% twin-encapsulated retinaldehyde. It is designed to target visible signs of ageing, including fine lines, wrinkles, uneven texture, pigmentation and loss of firmness.

Who is Crystal Retinal 6 best suited to?

It's designed for regular vitamin A users who have already developed a good tolerance to retinal or retinol. Medik8 recommends Crystal Retinal 6 for those progressing from Crystal Retinal 3 or experienced users of other vitamin A formulas.

What is the difference between Crystal Retinal 3 and 6?

The key difference is the concentration of retinaldehyde. Crystal Retinal 3 contains 0.03% retinal and is intended for vitamin A beginners, while Crystal Retinal 6 contains 0.06% and is designed for regular vitamin A users. The two strengths form part of Medik8's progressive approach, allowing you to increase potency as your skin builds tolerance.

Can Crystal Retinal 6 help with pigmentation?

Yes. Retinal can help improve the appearance of uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation while supporting a brighter, clearer-looking complexion. Medik8's clinical testing of Crystal Retinal 6 reported a reduction in visible hyperpigmentation over 12 weeks.

How often should I use Crystal Retinal 6?

If you're new to Crystal Retinal, Medik8 recommends starting twice a week for two weeks, then every other night for two weeks before progressing to nightly use. If you've already established a good tolerance to vitamin A, you may be able to introduce it more quickly, but it's still important to monitor how your skin responds.

Can I use Crystal Retinal 6 with other active ingredients?

When introducing a stronger retinal, it's best to keep your routine relatively simple and avoid layering it with other potentially irritating actives until your skin has adjusted. In particular, avoid using another vitamin A product at the same time. Once your skin has settled, our team can advise on which actives can be safely incorporated alongside your retinal routine.

When should I move from Crystal Retinal 6 to Crystal Retinal 10?

There's no need to rush. Medik8 recommends completing at least one tube of your current Crystal Retinal strength before moving to the next level. If you've comfortably used Crystal Retinal 6 and want to increase your retinal strength, Crystal Retinal 10 is the next step for advanced vitamin A users.
